Where do I fly into?
The tour includes a transfer to and from Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) on the official tour dates. However the other major airports in Portugal are:
Lagos International Airport (FAO) (2.5 hours drive to Lisbon) and
Porto Airport (OPO) (3 hours drive to Lisbon) .
If you decide to fly into or out of any other airport, or extend your stay in Portugal around the official tour dates we can you help you to arrange a transfer!
Can I extend my stay in Portugal or Europe?
Of course! We would encourage it to see more of our beautiful country & continent. Just let us know your flight code / arrival time and we will be here to facilitate the Lisbon leg of your trip.
Do I need a Schengen visa to travel to Portugal?
No visa is necessary if you are a US or UK citizen and will be traveling to Portugal for up to 90 days. However, you will need a valid US/UK passport for at least 3 months from the date of planned return or other travel document recognised by member States of the Schengen Agreement.
Do I need to take a COVID-19 test for entry into Portugal?
As of July 1, 2022, passengers entering Portugal (including the islands of Azores & Madeira) are no longer required to present proof of a test with a negative result for COVID-19 or to present a COVID-EU digital certificate or vaccination or recovery certificate issued by third countries.
How can I communicate with our greeter?
For ease of communication with your British guide, we use WhatsApp, a free app which you can use throughout the duration of your stay, and before your arrival (including email) to sort out any final arrangements. WhatsApp is run using data or Wi-Fi so you will not have to change sim card.
What should I bring?
Comfortable sportswear & trainers for pickleball.
Casual clothes, comfortable shoes for the uneven Calçada in Lisbon.
A jumper or light jacket since the evenings can be chilly!
Sunscreen & a hat (the pickleball courts are uncovered).
A reusable water bottle to take on excursion days. (Cold water is provided for each open play session as well as upon arrival from the airport, however won’t be provided during the excursions).
Can I bring my own paddle?
Paddles can be provided at no additional cost, just let us know how many paddles you will need. However if you have a favourite paddle you like to use, please feel free to bring it.
What is included in the cost?
Each tour price includes:
Transfers to and from Lisbon airport with a greeter.
Accommodation at a 4* hotel in Azeitão.
A continental breakfast buffet served daily at the hotel.
A welcome drink upon arrival.
Cold water bottles provided for openplay sessions or clinics.
Use of pickleball courts for daily openplay sessions.
Tickets to excursions as specified in the itinerary.
Tour guides in Jerónimos Monastery & Pena Palace.
Wine Tasting event & tour of Bacalhõa winery.
Daily transport to and from the excursions.
Communication with a tour guide available to assist with anything you need for the duration of your stay.
What is excluded from the cost?
Each tour excludes:
Flights or transport to Lisbon.
Lunches & dinners not included in the itinerary.
Any trip extras not included in the itinerary such as the wine tasting & river cruises.
Any minibar purchases, lunches or dinners charged to the room will be paid directly to the hotel upon check out.
